Dr. Elyse Kerschner is our highly esteemed board certified pediatric dentist. She is passionate about creating a lasting, fun, and positive memory of going to the dentist for kids. She is a strong believer in preventive dentistry, striving to teach children and their families healthy habits to encourage a lifetime free of dental disease. We are always impressed with Dr. Elyse when we see a fearful child go into their appointment, and come out with a huge smile on their face!
Dr. Elyse was born and raised in Upstate, NY and fell head over heels for Manhattan during her doctorate studies at NYU. She attended Binghamton University where she earned her B.A. before receiving her doctorate in Dental Surgery at New York University College of Dentistry. After completing her general practice training, she went on to receive two years of specialty training in pediatrics at Maimonides Medical Center. One of her passions is integrating oral health with general health and she has attended multiple conferences and symposiums to deepen her skills. Dr. Elyse has extensive knowledge, training and experience on tongue and lip tie releases and their effect on feeding, speech, with proper growth and development. She is a member of the American Laser Study Club.
She is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry sharing their core values to provide the highest quality oral health care for children. Such care is to be thoughtful, careful, ethical, and based on the current scientific evidence. Dr. Elyse also values building relationships by communicating openly and actively listening to both patient and parent. She takes great joy in finding the best way to serve her patients and loves to see a child's confidence grow at each visit.
In her free time, Dr. Elyse enjoys cooking, fitness, skiing, and traveling to new and amazing places. She recently took up pottery classes, so ask her about her failed pieces, or give her a book recommendation at your next visit!
